Bouncing Tach
Bouncing Tach
My Tach Bounces like crazy. I Don't know what the real problem is. It started when my plug wires were jumping and missing above 3500rpm. replace those and put in a new Accel ignition module and Accel super coil. The distributor and that stuff looks fine. The coil is NOT on the distributor. It is a separate HEI module. Thanks in advance for the info and suggestions on what to do to fix it.

I had the same problem with mine... I didnt replace any of the stock ignition parts. All I did was put new plug wires in and it stopped bouncing all over the place. The car also had a surge but once the plug wires were isntalled it ran perfect. Maybe your new wires are bad...I doubt it, but it wouldnt hurt to double check

im having the same problem, i was on the freeway the other night and took it to about 4K RPMs in third gear and the tach started bouncing all over the place. i couldnt really feel any loss of power because the bouncing stops after i give it alittle gas, it only bounces when i give it just enough gas to keep it at a certain RPM. It also misses alittle at lower rpms and i can feel it. One of my wires sits pretty close to my headers and has a big crack in it and they are also about 2 years old so i think im going to chance those and the spark plugs. i already have a set of Taylor Spiro Pro wires sitting in the garage and maybe. Im also running some Bosch platnums right now which from doing research on the boards i found they are suppose to suck, so ill probably try out those new Accel shorty spark plugs. Ill also check out the cap and rotor (only about a year old) and see if there is anything wrong with those, ill keep you guys informed.
