-=Car won't start HELP!!!!=-

I need all the help i can get on this one guys... ok there is what happen i have a 1991 Firebird that had the stock 3.1L v6 in it. i had a guy take out the V-6 and put in a 305 v-8 out of an 86 monte carlo. it went from computer control and non-computer controled. now the can that we put in there was to big and didn't pass the sniffer test so i put in a new cam. but becise on where the alt. was on the v-6 we have to add a wire from the stock loc. over across the front of the motor right above the water pump and the alt (the one wire nto the plug) not here is where it gets pucker up. when i went to take the water pump off i have to use a screw drive to pull the water pump off...when that happen i hit the wire going off the alt and it shorted out.... when i saw smoke comeing from the the back of themotor and it looks liek to me it was comeing from the starter. so i replaced the started solanoe (beed spelling) and i have to get a new battory cuz the battory started to smoke as well. so i replaced them today and now there is no power in the car at all... BUT here is where it gets pucker up even more... when i hook up the alarm to the battory and disarm it you knwo how the arlam will turn the lights on... well they tun on and everythign else will work in the car but after the alarm cuts the lights off everythign dies. i was told to check the fuseable links going to the started and they tested out fine. i also tested the started relay and thatis fine. i don't knwo what to do! i Need my car done!!! and runable!

HELP!!!!!!
