Dome Light Will Not Go Off.....
Dome Light Will Not Go Off.....
The dome light inside my 92 bird will not go off. Tried pressing the button that the door pushes down manually with my finger but the light still doesn't go off??? My viper alarm also is giving two solo chirps which signals that the door is open. What is wrong? How do I fix this?

to access them you gotta remoe the kick panel carpet pieces, three phillips head screws are imbedded in the panels, feel around or indentation where screw heads are at, one is really up high towards rear of panrel, thats hardest one to get out, get a nice shape #2 phillips driver bit
the access hole for the door dome lamp switch is cut out of the body tub of the car beinhd the kick panel, but you only need to remove panel to unplug wires, the actual switch itself simply unscrews from the door jamb, just look closer and youll see how and why, it simpley threads directly into car body tub and grounds to it, or well is supposed to be anyways, make sure its tight and grounding out good, test light on the body of the switch will tell you if is grounded out good, white wires run to the switches, no other colors, dome lamps get hot feed through orange wires all the time

Somewhere in your car the white wire is grounded. It could be the switch, or it could be anywhere else in the circuit. Unplug the pin switch first, keep in mind it could be either door. If its not the switch then you need to find the short. Unfortunately the white wire runs thru the entire car.

you know that rotating the headlight **** left and right turns it off... some people never knew that.....
open both your doors check near the front in the doorjams there should be a little **** that you can push in and out on each side... when they're pushed out the light turns on... but since your door is closed i don't see how they could be turned off...

also the delay timer box could be messed up, can find it behind lower panel on front of dash on pass side, in my 82 the box doesnt work anmymore, lights come on and off with switches immediately, no delay at all, same with in the 83 caprice, too, the box in other cars other than F body cars are blue and mounted to fuse panel directly,
