no turn signal!

My right turn works, and my hazards work, but my left is always stuck on. When I turn the lights on the green signal indicator is always on, and the sidemarker light is off. If the right side works, then the relay is good, and same for hazards also. The bulbs are good, theres just no on/off action. Help please! Inspection time is coming soon ;p

Most likely it's a signal bulb you're overlooking (like the sidemarker or something) or a bad wire on the nonworking side. If one side is flashing, and the other isn't, the relay is good. There is only one flasher relay that makes both sides flash. The hazzard relay is independant of the signals (so to speak) and will operate regardless of the amount of bulbs burnt out.
The only other problem that it might be is something broken w/in the turn signal switch. I'd start with the bulbs.
The easiest way to find a burnt bulb is by turning on the hazzards and walking around the car looking for the signal not working.

Replace the Flashing relay located under the dash. At $2.00 part and it controls both sides, so if may be defective. Very tight location and hard to get at, hope you have small hands.

If the relay works for the right side, then its not the relay. It's a matter of voltage being directed to another part of the circuit. the sidemarker bulb is very very low, can only be seen when pulled out of the slot. The interior light is only on with the lights on, but when you push the selector to the left side, the inside indicator turns off, the rear light goes on, but sidemarker and front turn stay the same.

Does it light any better or flash with the hazzards on ?
Check and make sure the ground wire for the front marker is good, clean and secure.

usually when dash turn light is on it means a bulb is burnt or missing, check all your bulbs make sure all are working, swap flashers make sure both work

on a side note i have an 83 caprice that driver side parking light is extremely dim barely lit and dash indicator light is stuck on and i cannot figure it out, bulb is fine ive swapped in good bulbs and there is full 12v and full ground to the socket, it is plastic housing and socket not metal one, so its an impossible fix, i have given up, its annoying to see light in dash lit up

good luck
