I just finished hooking up a custom dash and all new gauges. I got rid of the digital dash. Yesterday, my car would start with a charger but then the volts would slowly drop down below 9V. The car would run but when I shut it off it was dead. Today I turned the key forward and had power. When I cranked it it just moved the starter a littlethen the battery was dead but there was still power to gauges etc. Then I turned it back and turned forward again---I have no power at all as if I took the battery out of the car. When I hook up the charger to the battery it wont even charge and the clips from the charger get hot. Even with the charger hooked up, if I turn the key forward there is no power. I am clueless. Any suggestions.

 

check the battery with a multimeter ... it should be around 12V to 14V all day even after a charge. Below that and you may need a new battery. Also check to see it the battery is low on fluids.


Check you fuse box for blown fuses.
