electrical problems, need ideas/opinions

I have a few problems.

1: My foglights keep quitting working. The relays keep blowin. I have aftermarket fogs. They use 35W H3 bulbs. I have them powered by a single wire to the passenger side power wire(purple) Both lights draw power from that one wire. Both lights use each sides stock ground wires. All fusible links were blown in car. I spliced a wire from the red power wire at the relay to the battery post. I put a 30 amp fuse inbetween. Also, the green wire from the relay is grounded so the fogs will run with brights. I have used 3 relays so far. What is causing them to blow?

2: I have a electric fan run by a manuel switch. The switch overheated badly about 10 min ago. Its a metal toggle style switch. The sides are blistered. It burned when touched. The switch now doesnt work. What cuased the switch to burn like that? I never replaced this one. It may be worth mentioning that my fan has a short in it, the wires must be tied tight in order for it to work.

3: My volt guage bounces around. I have just replaced the alternator. The battery was dead(eye was black) so I charged it. Eye is now green. The Battery now doesnt seem to hold a good charge. The volts still isnt as high as I'd like. I'm gonna replace the battery. What's causing this?

I was in a car accident 1 1/2 monthes ago. I had to replace both foglights. They worked perfectly before the accident now I have these problems. I have 4 wires coming from the battery post. 2 for headlight motors, 1 for fan, 1 for fogs. All have fuses. headligt motors have them between the relays and post. Fogs have it between relay and post. Fan has it between fan and switch.

Any suggestions/comments?

Thanks,

Matt
