Ok, something wacky is going on with my car

I have a 1991 3.1 V6 and let me explain some symptons it is throwing out. The hatch release button on the console works without the key being on "on" but as soon as I turn the car or key to on the hatch button will not work.

I have no gauge cluster lighting and my electrical fan is not working even with AC on causing my car to start overheating. Ok, now

I did notice near the back of the intake near the AC there is a ground with a braided wire, I lookated at mine and its connected to the firewall and the rest of it is just hanging....where does this go?

Undearneath the driverside I have a wire hanging out, its about a square inch block with four wires going to it, on the back the wires go in a cross pattern with numbers written on the pins....
Im not sure of the exact order but to give you a idea its like this....(3 being the one I know for sure)

.......1
....2 3 4
.......5

(the dots are nothing, they jsut allow me to space the number 1 and 5, since the format is not allowed on this board.)

3 has no wire going to it, just the others, also the plug also has some sort of white button looking thing on it, its a black plug....

Anyone got a clue where these two go? Thanks.

your power hatch release is made to not work with the key on to prevent it from being hit while going down the road and opening up

also on your other question the braided wire is a chassis ground it needs to be connected to the block

Yea I started to think about that one with the hatch. OI figured that out myself lol, when I bought the car the hatch button never worked but I pulled the console and plugged it in and never knew how it originally went but yea I was thinking to myself, wtf am I going to do going down the highway and hit that button? Anyways, the fan is still not working and im trying to figure out where that plug goes, thanks for the reply.
