Radio display goes out when I step on the brake.

I am having a mess of electrical issues.

1. The blinkers stopped blinking. When I turn the turn signal indicator, it's solid.

2. The cruise control stopped working.

3. When the car is completely off and I step on the brake, the tone box goes off.

4. The rear lights don't work EXCEPT when the hazard lights are on...then they flash.

What the heck is going on? I'm so confused. I don't even know where to start looking.

Pull down your little "convenience center". It sounds like you have a loose connection or a wire with no insulation touching ground when you hit the brake.

To get to the convenience center, you have to pull off the plastic panel under the dash on the driver's side. It sits opposite the fuse box, right by the center console. It'll have a removable panel on the bottom of it to check the wires on the actual box, and it also has two tabs to push to swing it down and check the components.

You also didn't say if it is the factory radio. If it's aftermarket it could just be a crappy installation that is giving you issues. Maybe a loose wire or something

Good luck,
Matt

radio

That's a good point. I should have mentioned that everything is factory. Nothing has been changed. I see the panel you discuss...I will start looking into it tonight...
