Headlights Question

Hi guys

I got a question regarding the Headlights. In what year did the headlights change size? I notieced that the 90s headlights are smaller somehow and the 82s are bigger. Does anyone know the year when they changed to the smaller ones?

THanks alot

The 'bird headlamps are the same size for all years. The ony thing that changed was in 91-2 (the year the nose & gfx changed), the headlamp housing changed slightly and I believe the lamp itself changed from sealed beam to a plastic composite type. Don't quote me on that last part though.

In 1991 the lights themselves changed, they used a smaller headlight, same size as the Camaro lights but still sealed beam.

Also the headlight assembly changed, the light holder is smaller and the lights go all the way down so the front edge is flush with the nose piece and totally hidden.

I "believe" I will go with what my 91 Firebird is using, unless you want to dispute the lights and assembly I just had to replace on it. Just like the fender/ nose piece, I am speaking from first hand knowledge and I know what I put on my own cars.
