help with fuse blowing...

i keep blowing the 20amp acc fuse in the 84, even with a 25amp fuse in it, it blows within like 5-15 min, im gonna go check the radio wiring now for exposed wire, but aside from a wire grounding/shorting out by contact, what else could it be? Thanx.

It has to be either a shorted wire, or the component is drawing way to much amperage. Nothing else could cause it. More likely than not, it is the exposed wire

Good luck,
Matt

Re: help with fuse blowing...

cigarette lighter seems to pop the acc fuse. in my 89 the cigarette lighter was loose in the holder and it would jimmy its way down and make contact, after about 5 min it would pop the fuse cause it would heat up and there was nowhere for the current to go. so give that a check as well
