Car not starting...maybe vats strikes again?

Aight,

Car started fine yesterday, today, won't star. Replaced starter, still won't start, won't even turn over. Checked battery, fine...Replaced the ingition switch...Same thing. What's the deal? I was doing some reading about people having the same prob because of the the vechicle anti theft system(vats) anyone know how to disable this?

u can tell if u have vats by a security light on your dash cluster, and i tink a vats key is bigger on the end of it, what u do is take a multimeter, put one probe on each side of the key, and read what resistance u get, go to radioshack or other elec shop, get a resistor of same or very close resistance, find that wires that go to the ignition cylinder for the vats reader, and put the resistor inbetween those 2 wires, hope this helps

Checked to see if it was the vats causing the prob, but it turned out it wasn't. The security light doesn't stay on anyway.

Thanks for the info though...Here is a list of the things I have checked.

replaced starter (was going bad anyway)
replaced ingition switch
cleaned off key
checked to see if it was being caused by VATS, wasn't the prob
checked to see if it was the neutral safey switch, didn't help
Checked battery, turned out ok

Are you getting a click from the solenoid, have you checked the starter relay? Wiring to starter solenoid?
Just a couple of thoughts

Trickster,
Thank you so much for the VATS info. It seems it's either my alternato which is not recharging the battery hence not putting enough current to start the motor.

So now i am stuck as the starter is not going in the right way.
Regards Sean
