I hate my dash lights and the BEEEEP

I got all new 194 bulbs so i put them in get everything in and i think im all done til i see a light socket on the floor so i take everything apart. And notice im missing a light socket and i cant find it so tommorw im going to the junkyard. Any ways now my stupid beeeeeep thing wont shut up the lights are off and everything ill put the key to the On position and it will beep. I turn the car on my inftl light blinks and so does my ses light but the beep still goes and will not go away. Any idea why? could it be something with the computer since i didnt disconnect the battary? any ideas

There is a very distinct possibility, my manual calls for disconnecting the battery before removing the instrument cluster. Try disconnecting the battery and let it sit for a little bit before you reconnect it.

Ok well i tried disconnecting my battary but everything still went beeep after i hooked it back up. I have all the bulbs in there socket now. SO anyways i think it has something to do with mylights. I tried benind one of the tabs down and turned my lights on and turned the car on and i had the beeping. Then i bent the tab back up and bent another one down and when my key was in the On position or the car was on with the lights off i got a BEEP again. Any ideas im probly going to pull the beep box out but i would like to actualy find the problem inted of just putting a bandaid over the problem.

FAST RS,

When you refer to the beeping, what specifically are you talking about. You also mentioned that the inftl light and ses light blinks. Have you checked to see if any codes were stored in memory. Also, did you by any chance happen to lower the steering column by loosening it. I think (not really sure since I haven't dealt with air bags that much) that the beeping is caused by the inflatable airbag system. If it is, there should be a re-set switch somewhere in the car to turn it off. But check to see if the computer is throwing any codes. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

Air bag is fine no SES codes are comming out. BAsicly the SES and inftl light work like they are susposto. they blink and turn off. Which is fine. I just ended up pulling the speaker out. The beep i refer to is the beeeeep when you leave yout lights on or your key in the ignition. everything works now except that speaker whcih one day ill figure out. Right now i have a new peoplem my 225,000 miles on the engine are starting to show you can hear the bottom end starting to spin a bearing.

Hello again FAST RS,

Kind of curious here, a few days ago, you requested some information from me concerning VATS. Have you by chance replaced your lock cylinder yet? The reason that I am asking that is because I'm wondering if that might have something to do with your contant beeping problem. Half a thought there!!
