some wierd problems
Alright, quite alot is screwed up. I put a new shifter in my car, and the lock cable busted and so did a pewter thing in the steering column. Fixed the peweter thing, and car starts. Well, here are all the funny electrical things. When I want to put my brights on, it works fine, but when I want to switch back to dims, I have to tilt the steering wheel up. When I try using my turn signals, I blow a fuse everytime. I was wonderin if any of you guys new what was wrong, and how to fix it. Thanks.

Sounds like 2 bugs caused by you woring under the dash,.........
The first "high beams" problem is probably the result of the high bean switch being bent a little from you working around the column. I had a similar problem years ago after replacing the ignition box that the parklock cable feeds into. Try bending the high beam switch back against the column. (It's located to the left of the column with a rod that pushes on the center of it) You can see the rod moving if you look under there with the hush panel removed while operating the high beam switch.
Second,..... sounds like a blinker wire is touching metal and is blowing a fuse everytime you put power thru the wire ( by activating the blinkers ) Check the wiring that runs thru the column in the area around the Park lock cable for damage. the damage could be the result of the Park lock cable breaking or from you working under there.
Also - if you had to drop the column while working under there.......... be sure you didn't pinch any wiring between the column bracket and the top of the column mounting area. I pinched my hatch relay wire one time after droping the column and every time I pushed the hatch release I blew a fuse !
Good luck !
