need help with audio alarm chime

My little audio alarm gizmo (under the dash to the right of the steering wheel) that chimes when the key is in, lights are on or seat belt is not buckled is not working right. Only works for the seatbelt. I thinik I have narrowed the "key-in" no chime problem (chimees with key in and door open) down to the key-in switch in the ignition column. I think it may be faulty. Does anyone know where it is exactly, how to get it out etc??? You don't need a whole new ignition switch do you???

I think I have the lights on no chime issue figured out too (chime isn't coming on when lights left on). I pulled out the chime unit from the convenience centre and it appears to only have 6 contacts when there should be 7. The contact that is missing is for the grey wire that comes from the light switch (the grey wire is there and has power when lights are on). That seems odd that there would be provisions for the wire and yet no contact on the chime unit when it lists all 3 in the service manual. Can you actually get another chime unit???

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.
