My Car Wont turn off!
OK i just put my new 350 in and we were breakin it in and when we were done i couldnt turn it off with the key so i pulled the battery wire to the distributor oh i have a petronix flamethrower distributor also when the battery is hooked up my parking brake light is on (when i apply the brake) and the check engine light is on when the kay is in off position. please help
When you say it keeps running, do you mean it's running good? Or it's deiseling?
It sounds to me like you have a short somewhere. When you were doing the engine, did you accidentially bump or cut the harness that runs above the brake booster? All of you ignition wires run through there, so if you gouged the wire jacket on the red 12+ and the pink ignition wire and they're touching it will keep the car running. Also, were you messing around under the dash at all? The brake switch wire and the ignition wires run in pretty close proximity with eachother. Maybe those are shorted out.
Really, the best thing you can do is pull out your voltmeter and start tracing wires if it isn't the stuff above.
Good luck,
Matt

The kill switch would tap into the same wires that are possibly shorted out. I personally wouldn't drive it until you find out what is giving you the problems. That's probably not what you want to hear, but it's definately the safest method
