what is this wire for? Any ideas? Yea I'm talking about the horribly frayed and terribly patched wire. Thanks...

That old boy is one of the fusible links that goes from the battery to the ECM. It definitely looks like it has had better days.

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!! Or set him up for troubleshooting all kinds of weird malfunctions and spending lots of cash replacing parts that are good

lots o problems from blower to alternator to fuel ecm all kinds of stuff. If I were you I'd get a genuine gm service manual to get the wiring correct. Don't skimp out with a chiltons where there are no wiring diagrams. That car has been butchered together, I'm supprised it even runs.

they are year specific, but you can figure stuff out if you don't have the identical year. best bets are ebay, dealer, or www.helminc.com they produce the oem manuals or most of them.

Order one through the service manager at your local dealership. They order theirs from Helms and can get them for a lot less than you would pay going through Helms yourself. Mine cost $60.00 three years ago going through the dealership.
