whats this?
under my drivers side kickpanel is a 2 wire male connector. the female connector is clear and it has a diode connecting the 2 wires on the male connector. what is this for? does anyone else have this? i have seen another trans am at the boneyard that had this too. but this does not look factory though.

my manual says its for a car without digital cluster only.
it keeps the current from the alternator from making you dash lights dim and brighten is cycles.

who knows..maybe someone wired an amp in and was too lazy to remove the wiring..Or its actually for something. I have two female wires coming from under my rug. Im guessing the same thing. Some weak *** previous stereo....I dunno If its not broke dont fix it.
Edit:they arent female coming from under the rug its male. Sounds like something like yours....who knows. Ive never really cared to look into it.
