Get a dual battery isolater. You can get them at just about any parts store.

Re: 2 bateries help

i was also thinking of putting in a second battery for subs and junk. around what size of amp alt. is needed for both batteries. one to power the car, and the other to power about 2500 watts worth for subs and speakers? this is going into an 89 formula tbi, also, why do they recomend putting the battery in the back, my freinds t/a has the battery on the other side in the front, couldn't i just move the canister and get a battery box for the otherside, so i'd have one on each side under the hood?
what is a good battery to get for the amp/subs batt?
i have been looking around and alot of them are really pricey, is there any out there that are pretty resonable, can i use just an every day battery??
thanks, just a little confusing and i cannot seem to find any answers directly related to the 3rd gens.

Re: 2 bateries help

wow, i said that a while ago..lol.. yea, i don't think your quite understanding me.. i want to run aproximatly 2500 rms watts of power for the speakers and a sub.. theres no way running 1 batt could keep up with the voltage, i would need a higher output alt, big 3 , and another batt.. just don't know what size of battery and altenator i need... do you have any clue?, sorry for the confusion....lol..

edit: oh, btw, i didn't have any troubles hooking my power wire to the battery... and it's a side post only..lol...
