Altenator problem!!!!!

Ok, so the new motor is in, it runs, my alt is new, i have only one wire to it from the batery to the small screw on teh back of the alt, the plug on the alt is bare, i have no wires runnin to it, is this the reason its not chargin my batery or what, any ideas...

Yes, the connector on the back of the alternator should be a two pin connector and have a red wire and a tan/white wire going to it. The red wire is a fusible link going to the starter solenoid. The tan/white wire goes to the FP-FAN fuse on the fuse panel, it also splits off and goes to the coolant fan relays

i dont have that wiring going to it, all i have is that red wire from teh battery to the small nut on the back of the alt

the two pin connector is nowhere to be found, so where do i need to hook up the wires from where the pin connector used to go, i thik one goes right to the small nut on the back of the alt, and another one is for the gauge...please help me out, im eating batteries left and right....

Hello Charged350,

Those two wires should be in the same wire loom on the driver side as the wires for the fuel injectors and the MAF sensor. Check that loom and see if the wires and connector are possibly tucked up inside out of view. The connector will plug into the bottom of the alternator, at least it does on my car. Let me know what you find!

I think hes talking about the single wire that goes from the back of the wire to the distribution block. The stock one is in that hard black shell.
