Dead!

Okay, so I jinx'd myself bigtime tonight... 20 minutes after I told my friend I have NEVER gotten a dead battery in any of my cars, the Camaro battery died (TRUE STORY!!). Tried to jump it with an Infiniti, brand new Suburban, and a Pathfinder, none of them had enough juice to turn that thing over! The starter would just click real fast, and it tried, but there just wasn't enough juice. Finally after hooking the Suburban AND a portable booster to the car at once it turned over.

Anyway, the car runs once you get it started, but with the lights, heater, and two electric fans, oh, and the radio, it would drop down below the 13v mark on the guage at idle, with the brakes on. Other than that, it was fairly past it while driving. Once I shut the car off again, completely dead.

The reason? Well, both fans are wired into the A/C compressor switch (Don't ask, PO did it), the AC is unplugged. When you shut the car off, thirty seconds later the fans shut off, thats normal, however, a couple times, they have kept running, and never shut off, until you turn the car on, and back off. I'm guessing they didn't turn off, and after about 20 minutes of running, they must have killed the battery. Could that happen? Could those fans really kill a healthy battery? Not just drain it, but kill it?

Thanks!

Yes, running a battery all the way down can get it to where it simply won't take a charge (especially those cheap wally-world batteries)
