Tach Bounce at high RPMs

Engine: 305 (LG4)

Transmission: THM700R4

Axle/Gears: 10 bolt, 3.23 non-LS

Tach Bounce at high RPMs

Took my 83 (LG4) out for a run yesterday and found that at high RPMs (>3000) the Tach starts to bounce around. The actual RPMs didn't seem like they were bouncing around. I inspected the wires and didn't see anything except that one of the plug wires was laying along side the pink and brown distributor wires. Could the tach bounce be caused by induction?
