Cant Connect Battery !!smokes!!

Cant Connect Battery !!smokes!!
when i connect my battery my fans turn on and one of my brake lines starts to smoke.nothing is touching the line and the key isnt forward for the fans? any ideas?

Are you sure it's the brake line? is the fan relay near that area?
It might be smoking, but make it looks like the line.. It sounds pretty strange.. But the fan part sounds like the relay has gone bad.. Those are pretty cheap to fix..

i noticed that on both sides of the motor had big grounds that i connected to the accessory brackets.now i look at the battery terminals and the neg has a big "ground" looking wire that runs next to my fan wiring, well i thought that wire was a ground so it is connected to my block.where is it really suppose to go?

Umm, that could be another source.. that reminded me of one of the ground straps on mine.. that attaches on the left site of the fire wall.. the surface between the strap and the body was corroded.. and that smoked red hot.. took it off cleaned both surfaces and it's all good.. I'm not totally sure if the ground strap locations are the same for a camaro and a bird..

most of the time the ground from the battery goes strait to the frame in the area of the battery just a little towards the rear.
