StompGas=Blown fuse w/choke

Hey guys. I took my car to the shop to have it looked at. Mainly my choke, and my plugz. My plugz were supposably good. He said he replaced the burnt fuse on the box for the choke and it worked fine. But anyway...I drive home. The light doesnt turn on, however I know its gonna turn back on and blow a fuse its just a matter of time. So I take it to the side roads for some acceleration. I stopped in the middle of the road. Floored the gas, spun the tires, and what u know that damned choke light came back on again!~!!!!!

My question is..Why would it only come on when I floor it? Loose wiring? You would have thought the mechanic would see it...Who knows. If anyone can help me out much appreciated.

Since your alternator shares the same circuit and IIRC will make the choke light come on if there is a problem with the alt., you may want to go have your alt tested.

Low Alt output will cause a CHOKE light on your car. Watch the VOLTS gage next time the light comes on.

I dont think its my alternator? Ive been driving it for over a year and I start up fine. My battery hasnt died on me, and such. I mean I could really be wrong...But if it was the alt. wouldnt it not want to start up or something or give me bad volts. Cuz Im pretty sure I get good volts, + I have a sound system in the trunk. Keep in mind that also the fuse for the choke only blows when I rev up the rpms when driving. If I put the fuse in and drive normal it usually doesnt blow and the light doesnt come on. I do have to hold the gas a little in the morning to keep it started but only for about under a min, then it idles fine.

Ill update if I find out anything, till then Im stuck with looking at that damned light lit up....

Nate

I would have to look at a wiring diagram but the hood louver might be hooked into that circuit. So when you floor it it blows the fuse. just a thought.

try unhooking it at the connector attached to the hood(two wire I think). might look for the vaccum switch attached to the firewall with the relay on hte drivers side and there is also a cold temp switch located in the drivers side head(back side I think) that is part of the system as well.
