GTA starting problem
GTA starting problem
This weekend I am going with a friend to trouble shoot an electrical problem on a 88-89 GTA that he is wanting to buy off a friend of mine. It had been sitting for a few years and he said that an electrical (not starter) is keeping it from starting. Any ideas on what if could be before we just break out the multimeter?

there are 3 things you need to have an engine start.
1. air
2. fuel
3. compression
4. FIRE (spark)
ok, that was 4, sue me. check these things first

Need a few more specifics on exactly what it is doing before we can help with the troubleshooting. Electrical covers a whole lot of territory. Are you getting power to the lights, is fuel pump priming, does engine crank?
