Xmas car break into, Now i need an alarm

"Last night (Dec 25) Some *** broke into my car. Luckily for me my stereo is bolted down tighter than my lug nuts and you cant even get at my subs. The *** stole about $6.00 in change and stole some cds. Too bad for this guy the cd's were in my new cd wallet i got for xmas and all he got is some empty cases. under some shirts in the back were some xmas presents to other family, he never even seen those. Guess that shirt must've threw him off. "

Anyway I posted that on another board, but it got locked before i could edit, and ask this ques..

This time they only got about $6.00, But next time....

So im looking for an alarm that offers it all, Proximity, the pager thing, and install those keyless entry. The whole 9 yards.

Keyless entry (whole kit, i dont have electric locks)
pager
proximity
sound form of loud speaker
and maybe a battery backup... but im not worried about that

I've heard Viper alarms are good. But asking fellow owners of almost my exact car.... I dont have VATS... Any suggestions??

OK now im mad. NOT ONLY did they break into my car, but they broke into my dads van and stole a bunch of tools, including a cordless drill/dremel set. I think after adding up a whole bunch of stuff of my dads, they got over a $500.00 kill last nite. I can't believe it would happen to me.... I swear im gonna snap. Im sleeping out in my car the next few days........

I personally use Viper, and installed them professionally for 2.5 years. It's a great product, and I only had two come back ever as defective and needing replacement (as luck would have it, one was my car)

They have one out now with a pager built into the keypad, comes with a dual stage shock sensor, and you can buy the prox for a little extra.

Audiovox is also pretty decent. They are built on the assembly lines right along side the DEI product, so quality is pretty similar, and about 90% of the components inside are interchangable. The only thing I don't like about these is that if you get remote start also, all the relays are built into the brain. So you end up having to mount and hide a box that is 5"x5"x1.5".

If you are looking for a cheaper solution, alpine makes an alarm that includes a dual stage shock sensor and a prox, but their new alarms leave alot to be desired as far as quality goes. They can also be a pain to install and tune properly.

Definately don't cheap out and get a generic one like bulldog or something similar. You will regret it in the long run.

The one I put in my car is the viper model 550ESP, and added a prox and battery backup. I removed the shock sensor and tuned sensitivity so it will throw the warning cherp if someone is leaning there face againsed the window eyeing what I have inside. The battery backup is great if you get a crook who thinks he can get up under your car and cut the battery cables so the alarm won't go off. The backup keeps the alarm powered up and functional.

If you really want it loud get 3-4 sirens for under the hood, and get 4-5 mini piezo sirens to mount around the interior to drive the crook mad and make his ears bleed. Put two under the dash, two under the plastic in the rear storage area, and maybe one under the console. If you can't keep him out of the car, make him as uncomfortable inside it as you possibly can
