Starter and "BRAKE" light problem **URGENT**
I leave for school this Sunday, I need this figured out soon.
I have 2 problems, I dont know if they are related, but they happened at about the same time today.
This morning I got to start the car and it cranks 2-3 seconds then just stops cranking. No slow down in cranking, just dies, like power was cut. I try again, nothing, just a click noise. I jack it up and look, nothing unusual, try cranking and it starts right up.
After work, i got to start same thing happens, i wait 30 sec and it starts right up.
As I drive home I notice the BRAKE light is on, when i turn it flickers and goes off, as I straighten out and accelerate it goes on. As i drive down the freeway it stays on. I try the E-brake to see if its stuck but no. The e-brake doesnt work at all though, it has been disabled for a while now.
WTF?
Is my starter dieing on me?
I had rain yesterday and I drove through some big puddles, could water have gotten in or on something? Its cold here though so it could have frozen.
Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks,
Matt

i don't think the brake light has anything to do with your other problem. it's just that the spring in there has gone south so it thinks it's being "pushed" on when in fact the spring just failed.
