low idle (battery Problem?)

everytime i unplug and reconnect my battery my idle drops, about 500, and sometimes lower and the car stalls, now the problem corrects itself, after 100-200 miles, but i do alot of work on my car some of with includes disconnecting my battery, i was wondering if any one had any clue as to what the problem was and how to correct it, thanks

Incorrect Idle after Disconnecting Battery Is caused by the Erasing Of your ECM learned memory. They make a plug that plugs into your cig lighter and a (9 volt) battery to keep ECM memory and radio Programming.

The car shouldn't run hotter than usual after replacing the
battery! The only thing that gets affected from disconnecting
your battery is the ECM and radio memory. All you need to do is
drive the car for a while, and the idle and ECM will relearn itself.
Stalling is also normal after after disconnecting and reconnecting
the battery. The IAC memory is lost, until you drive it
for at least 3-5 miles!
