manual shift light indicator

Hello all,

I have an 84 firebird (V6 2.8L, 2bl). It has a shift light, the one that lights to tell you when you should shift, but it is not working and has not worked since I have owned it. Well, it is time to teach somone how to drive a stick shift. I have heard some people who have disconnected these lights. Anyone have any ideas as to where I can reconnect the light without taking the dash off first?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

You can teach someone how to drive stick without the shift light. It might just be that the bulb is burned out. Same deal with the dash removal thou.

anyone know what the bulb part number is before I take the dash apart? Are all the bulbs the same number? I have a few others that I need to replace.

Thanks again!
