From: out of my mind; be back in 5 minutes....
Car: 1989 Firebird Formula
Engine: Internal Combustion
Transmission: Completed
Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
A) Possible - Low voltage; is the car running and charging properly?
B) Most likely - One or more burnt out bulbs per side will also cause them them to not flash.
C) Least likely - The flasher unit is bad and needs replaced.

I have the same problem with just the right side. I remember a post not long ago about it. It could be one of the ground connections for the lights as well. Since it's finaly warm here, I might actually try to fix mine lol.

OK, I got mine working. Here is what I found on mine. This was for my Firebird. I assume you have a Camaro, but the sockets should be identical so this might work.

The front signal light socket had a bad ground. The terminal was corroded and brittle. So the "tab" that makes contact in the socket broke off. I bent what was left slightly so it made solid contact. Works great!

I also checked the ground to the chassis. I unbolted it and used my polisher and ground off the corrosion and rust off of the bolt, washer, body and terminal.

Now everything works the way it should. I'll probably still need to get a new terminal or socket, but it works now, so i'm not worried about it.

Hope that helps.

You used line B from Petes 84Z28. The most common cause is a bad bulb but as you found out, the socket was defective. I found that if you turn on your four ways, you will find out which bulb is not blinking and go from there.

both my front ones don't blink....? they are brand new apc blue xenon bulbs..... worked before I started messing with the wiring trying to wire in another set..... whats up with this? bad ground? back ones flash on hazard, but stay solid when on signal and same with the dash light, while the front ones dont become illuminated.

cheers

Blake

could it be a relay>

found my problem. because i dont drive my car yet, its a project. I had taken out the day time running light module. I tested my wires and got to a point where it wouldnt light up the bulbs, so I got close to the source. and seeing that there was noting that the dark and baby blue high beam flash wire's lead to except a empty prong, which happened to plug into my daytime running light crap. well I pluged one prong out of the two in, and bang. it worked..... so in the end, I went through 3 hours to wire in another set of bulbs, then probably another 3+ hours looking for a problem. then took off what I did to see if it would work. realized it didn't still and spent another 3 hours looking for problem. found problem, re wired 2nd set of bulbs into my car..... total 12hrs lol

good times!!!

cheers

ps hope that maybe you have somethign of the same situation?

I'm taking it that you have a bad connections some where, my grounds were in different spots for each bulb, so I would rule that out, unless yours isn't? check your relay? those are my guesses, I konw all the path routes of those damn wires. what i did was at the interior fire wall where the wires come together, they are separated nicly on a pigtail, so I ran a bare ended wire which would be cramed in with either my baby blue wire or dark blue wire and then touch the positive terminal on my battery to see if the high beam flash would come on. and shure enough for me it did, so I know it had to be something inside.

try it out

cheers
