B4C Alt. ?? qwik one!!
Did the B4C cars get a better altenator, and if so does anybody have the part #?? I tried searches and found nothing useful!! I just want something alittle better than the stock 105amp alt, and I want to be able to get it locally. Thanks

No idea. You'd probably want to upgrade the wires. Even the ones on my 94amp look a bit weedy, and are probably reducing the current capability somewhat. As it was an rpo option, I can't see it being anything else, but where you get one, I don't know. I think newer impalas have them too, but again I just don't know any more info.

You can get one from any starter/alternator rebuilding place. A good one is Keystone here in Toronto..they can rebuild your alternator while you wait and they have all the heavy duty parts like the HD regulators..etc

Just say you want a heavy duty version rated at 140amp or similar. They'll know what to do and it isn't that expensive. You should upgrade the alternator wire that runs to the positive terminal as well.

Used them both, the CS130D really wakes up the charging system. The 100 amp unit works better since it has a more aggressive charging curve at lower rpms. It solved all my low rpm issues. It's really worth doing for a TG.

Ya, I have to do something because at idle my charge is waayyy too low!! The rebuilt units they sell around here are only 100amp, that's what I have been using and they suck.
