what do the wires do for the radio do??

Transmission: 700-r4 with b&m trans pack
what do the wires do for the radio do??
i just bought a new kenwood reciever,i went to install it in my 84 firebird with a 2.8. i got the speakers hooked up,their are 3 wires on the cars wiring harness (black,yellow,gray) i want to know which wires are wich. wich is the power,ground and the ignition,any help would be appreciated,thanx 84frbrd
