shift light

I changed from TBI to TPI on my 89 RS. The car has a 5 speed. The ECM came from a wrecked IROCK with an automatic. My question is where does the factory shift light hook up to the ECM?

It is a tan/black wire that goes to pin "A17" of the ECM.

That is correct Dave Y. It also branches off to Pin "f" of the ALDL

I thought it might be, on my old 89 C1500, I swaped a 700R4 in place on the OE 5 speed, I ran all the wires, got a new chip(same, but w/auto) and when the TCC engaged , the Shift light came on

Kontrax, I may be wrong but the shift light can be programed to come on when I want it to. If not then I can unhook it.
