Alternator Woes (kinda long)
Alternator Woes (kinda long)
Hey guys, Ive got quite a predicament here. OK here goes. I have a 1987 Camaro that used to have the 2.8 in it. When i still had the six, i put a nice stereo in that ate alternators fast. I had one custom built and no problems since. Heres the problem. I have an ACDelco alternator (small case) that was built, and I am currently switching my car to a V8. I decided to go with a Vbelt setup for $$$ reasons, and other reasons. The question I have is how will I get this alternator to work with the VBelt. It's no problem to change the pulley out, but I need a bracket set that will work. Anyone have any ideas? I cant really afford a new alternator, and I dont want to put in a POS and lose use of my stereo. Any help would be appreciated guys.

And that works good with the small alternator, huh? Ill be damned. I have both the brackets in the top picture, but i need to find the one from the bottom picture. Im guessing I can find something similar in a JY, I hope.
