need help identifying clipped wire

hi

I was looking at my ECM the other day when i noticed a clipped white wire tucked up behind it. The kid that owned the car before me did a lot of hack jobs on it, and i am now wondering if this is another. He disabled the EGR and took out the AIR pump before i purchased the car. The SES light doesn't light up with any EGR codes (it does light up when other things go wrong), and i know it should with the EGR disconnected, could this be what its for? The cruise control and A/C were also yanked out... Sorry that i can't give any specifics about the wire other than "it was white"...its kinda cramped in there, and i couldn't really see much....

The only white wire that goes to the ECM is the Spark Timing Output wire at Pin "D4" of the ECM.

Hmm, that certainly doesnt sound good, haha. Hook a timing light up to it and see if it gets any advance when running. I think it would run like total poo without that wire hooked up, no?

electronic advance is working fine... The wire may not be going to the ecm. Now that i think about it, both clipped ends were hanging by the ecm, one came from the direction of the firewall, and one went into the passenger side kick panel, like it was going to the back of the car, or under the carpet... I cant think of anything in the back that isn't working though... Is the cruise control switched off by something near the brake lights?
