a stupid question, but will save time
hey everyone,
i finally got around to wiring up my fan switch for manual fan control (tapping into green/white wire to toggle and then from switch to ground). Before i tap into the green/ white wire is my question: do i really have to disconnect my battery? the reason i want to know this is because i have an alarm on my car and when i disconect the neg wire off the battery it screams bloody murder and i don't feel like setting it off. so pretty much i'm asking is it ok as long as the key's not in the ignition and the ignition isn't on?

for safety reasons you generally always want to disconnect the battery when working on your electrical system.. but theres no power going to that relay with the ignition off, you'll be fine

you need to ground from the toggle switch inside teh car or in the engine bay ??
if it is in the car, you can do it pretty much anywhere, dont let hte tech articles scare you. as long as you have a clean connection you will be alset. if the switch is near the radio you can even tap it into the ground for the radio.

everything went pretty smooth today. the way i ran the wires is, in the ps fender, there some hollow room so i ran the wire from the engine bay through the hollow space into the inside of the car. as for the ground, i found a pre-existing hole near the fender so i sanded off the paint and ground it there. it's crazy tho, i tapped into the aux fan relad and both fans come one at the same time. is this supposed to happen?
