Turn signal fuse blows as soon as I turn the key

I checked the cigarette lighter and all grounds to see if there was a short anywhere and I can't find one. Its a 20 amp fuse and i put a 25 and 30 in and it pops those immediatley. It happens everytime I turn the key and the blinker switch isn't even pulled. Whats going on?

Car: 1989 Firebird Formula
Engine: Internal Combustion
Transmission: Completed
Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
That fuse only powers the turn signals and the back-up lights.

You have a short somewhere between the fuse panel and the switch. Its just a matter of tracing the circuit and finding it.

Hmmm, I think may know what it is then, I have my reverse light wires taped in the engine bay because I havn't hooked them up, if they are both touching the chasis will this cause it to blow the fuse? If not, where should I trace?

Your the man trickster . I wish I could check it out right now, but I got the car at my body guy getting painted all black, new carpet and black leather racing seats. Was a blast to drive around town. Last night I beat a LS1 z28 from a 30mph roll, I got about 4 cars between us, we both shut off about 75mph. He killed me from a stop because I spun out in first, second and then chirped in third he got about 3-4 cars on me and shut off, was a fun night and my baby did me proud . I need some new tires, im thinking some drag radials, any hoo thanks for the info trickster i'll be sure to check it out when I get my car back (which is about 3 weeks ).

Went to the body shop to check out the car and decided I would see if my problem was the reverse lights and would like to give a big thanks to trickster for his bountiful knowledge on wiring diagrams . My reverse lights were touching the block and shorting it. Never even would have bothered to check the reverse lights if not for him. Thanks again trickster!
