I got my 84 Z28 and it does not have an antenna. How do i install 1? Do i need to buy a new motor with it?

Have you checked to see if your car originally came with a power antenna?

I don't know if they did it this way in 3rd gens, but my 80 Firebird had the antenna embedded in the winshield. There are two tiny wires coming up the center to the top and then turn to the right and left. Personally, I think this is sweet, makes for nice clean body lines.

I am not sure how to check, where the antenna goes on the body, there is just a deep hole.

I don't know if your car had the power antenna option on it or not. You can check your RPO codes and possibly find out. The RPO code for a fixed antenna is "US6", the code for a power antenna is "US7". I am including a power antenna wiring schematic from a 1985 camaro.

Well i just hooked up my new desk l;ast night and when i turn it on, i can hear the power antenna motor just keep turning. Wierd thing is, even if i switch to a cd, it still is trying to roll it up. Would i need to replace the entire motor when installing a new antenna? Or does the antenna attach to the motor?
