Older G4 Clifford alarm Install Help
Hello,
I happen to have an old Clifford Concept 100 G4 alarm that came with my car when I bought it about 3 years ago, and since I didn't know anything about alarms and it didn't work right when I got the car, my father took it out of the car.
Now, long story short, I'm looking to get keyless entry on my car, and after finding both the install guide and user's manual for the alarm, I am thinking I might take a crack at seeing if I can re-install it from scratch and get it to function for me.
Questions:
1) Can I use JUST the keyless entry w/o having the alarm part of the Clifford system hooked up?
2)In the install guide, all references to door locks and door triggers say "Please see a different part of this folder", but there is nothing in the manual regarding these topics.
3)Any good posts, pages, websites, faq's, etc. for first-time alarm installers such as myself? I have a little bit of car audio install experience, a lot of experience with electronics, and an eagerness to learn a LOT of stuff
Anything covering the absolute basics and working forward from there would be great.
Thanks in advance,
-Dustin

Ok, now I've basically got all my wiring figured out, and found the other sections of the manual for door trigger, interior lights, and door locks.
Next question: Hood trigger input, Grey/Yellow wire. Does this hook up to the hood pin that I have near my battery? The manual talks about having a "ground-switching hood light", but my car does not have a hood light, nor does it look like it has ever had one.
Also, I believe that they Interior Light Supply Brown/Red is grounded, but I would like to double-check that with somebody that knows.
One final question. When wiring up hatch trigger, is it best to connect to the hatch release relay, or rather to hatch release pin? I've read a couple posts that say it's best to go to relay, but my alarm was wired to pin previously, and I'm not sure how hard it would be to change now
Everything else is looking good so far, so hopefully alarm will get installed by the end of this weekend.
