Ok, I need some help. This is thirdgen related. and partialy not. I have the U1C Factory CD player in my Camaro, but not the exact one that would be in a Camaro. The one I have is out of an Oldsmobile. the problem I am having is the lights behind the buttons do not light. Though all the bulbs do work. at first I thought it might be the wirring in the car. But that checks out ok when I put the original tape deck back it. (it's buttons light). The only other thing I can think of is this.. The one I have and the few others I've seen have steering wheel control outputs on the back. I do not know if the ones in Camaros also had this or not. But I'm trying to figure out if these other buttons need to be present in order for the butons to light on the deck. So would anyone out there happen to have a shop manual for say a 89 to 94 Oldsmobile, or Chev. Astrovan. where it would show the full wiring diagram including the steering wheel controls.? So that I can see if that system is required in order for it to light up. I have had this stereo 'refurbished' through the local CHev. Dealer. So I know it tested ok, when it was shipped back.
