Engine ground strap

I have just put my battery in the trunk and it is grounded in the trunk. Now I am wondering-
Where is the best place to put the engine ground strap?

Hello BWW,

Not being sarcastic here, but the best place to put the engine ground strap is on the engine. BTW, what are you doing about the fusible links to the starter solenoid

Run the engine ground to the front subframe rail. Grind/sand the paint off where you're going to connect the wire so you get a good connection. Also, ground the battery to the rear subframe rail in the same fashion. You need the thicker metal of the subframe because the sheetmetal floorpan doesn't conduct very well. Ask me how I know.

Also, you can just leave the fusible links where they are....the battery cable still has to go to the starter.

what i did was ground the battery to the rear seat belt bolts in the back seats and left the factory ground strap that goes from the back of the block to the frame and than i added another ground that goes from the accesory brackts to the strut tower brace
