current to starter solenoid???

Need some help with the starter circuit. Does anyone know how much current goes through the clutch start switch down to the starter? The wire, at the clutch switch is 12 or 14 gauge but is 10 guage once it passes through the bulkhead connector. Anyone know how much current passes through that 10 guage wire to the starter? I want to cut into this circuit and put a relay. The relay I have now is 30/40Amp....will that be enough?

What are you trying to accomplish overall by doing this? Heat soak?

Starter kill for security. I just want to know if the 30/40amp relay I have is going to handle the power in that circuit.

I assume the wire coming from the bulkhead is just power to the starter solenoid rather than the motor but I surprised to see it still a 10 guage. That's pretty big.
