Anyone who has done the 4th gen panel swap
How did you wire up the power mirrors/windows? Any wiring diagrams you have would be very helpful. I'm going to start this mod this week.
Thanks!!

why change the beautiful straight look of a 3rd gen dash, i was telling my boy the other day if i were to get a 4th gen id prob get a 3rd gen dash
, just my opinion
, just my opinion Most people just use the stock switchs and mount them in differnt places or use aftermarket switches...
A 4th Gen dash IMO looks more sleek then the boxy design of the dash (which i know mathes the car), but the 3rd gen dashed looks dated.....

yeh, the vast majority of people that are using 4th gen panels are leaving the wiring in the middle of the dash. I have heard however, that's it's pretty easy to wire the window switches to one side, however, having the same amount of power go the other is more difficult. But i'm sure with enough time you can get it working right. I'll be doign the door swap soon, but because i don't have power windows yet, i'll just use some cloth panels, and put my cranks on them, then once i swap to electric motors, i'll change things to the leather doors, along with re-wiring the switches.
Yeh the 3rd gen dash is what makes these cars looks soo 80's i love the outside but the interior kills me. It almost make the car look ******* looks like some cave man designed it. As soon as i get my hands on a 4th gen dash im gettin one.

I have to agree, the interior of the 3rd gens does look outdated, and imo, bland. My interior got water damaged anyways, so most of the interior needs redone. Why not make it sleek and sexy on the inside? I drool everytime I see a car that has the completed 4th gen swap
On a side note... I bought the switches for the doors, and would prefer them to work there, so I don't have useless switches. I already have a 2002 t/a console in, and about the only place to mount them would be in the ashtray (where I have them at this current time) but I'd prefer not to keep them there perminently, so I can use the ashtray for change :P

f-body have u done a dash swap yet? if not, let me give you a suggestion.
I would highly recommend doing the dash swap prior to doing a door swap, the reason is the way the stock dash setups in the car you'd have to cut the door panels to fit, as the factory dash will intersect the late model doors. On the ocntrary, you might be able to trim the old dash to fit the new doors, but i haven't tried that, and everyone's posts that i've ever seen that left the dash whle doing doors always ended up with chopped up door panels, then if you decided to complete the 4th gne dash swpa in the future you would need to find another set of panels.
I guess, try mounting things, see how much material of the dash can be removed, and how close you can get the door panels to line up.

Back in 2000, I wired up a drivers side Camaro window/mirror control panel switch and had that mounted in the stock 4rd gen location. I got the windows to work, but I couldn't get the mirrors to work right with the 4th gen controls.
I could get the drivers side mirror to go up and down and the pass side to go left and right.
Here is pic of the switches I used,
