Autometer Oil Pressure gauge, sending unit questions

I was wondering if the sending unit on the autometer gauges output range is the same as stock, so that I can just tap into the factory gauge wire. How did you guys install yours? Thanks.

you didnt say but im guessing you still have the computer. if you do you have to find alternate locations to put the aftermarket senders. i would not suggest using the stock senders in either case as the gauges were probably calibrated to the aftermarket senders.

I installed a complete set of autometer gauges a couple of years ago. I replaced the sender that is mounted on the back of the block behind the intake manifold (by the distributor) with the autometer sender. Its been a few years but if i remember correctly there is a seperate sender for the computer mounted by the oil filter. This is the sender that cuts the fuel off if oil pressure drops too low.

My auto meter sender is too big to fit behind the intake?? I am going to tee off the sender/switch above the oil filter for my gauge.

On my stock setup, there was this big bell shaped sender, and your autometer is bigger than that?? Why not get a brass extension tube, and plug your sender into that?

I'm using a mechanical Autometer oil pressure gauge, so it's a little different.
Just my $.02

The gauge senders have nothing to do with the computer.
