ignition module
hi!
can anyone help me?i am having a ongoing problem w/my ignition module.it seems about every month or my igniton
mpdule is going bad.
first off i am applying the dielectric grease(nice even coat). a
ase master tech at my work suggested i ohm out the pick-up coil.
i omed it out.reading was from 901 -903ohm's,when the outer shell of the coil is rotated the coil goes out of range, then 1023(or
close to that),then back to 901-903 ohms.distributor gear has what i would call extreme wear(there is actually a step on the gear from wear).
i am getting ready to order a re-man distributor.
is there any thing i am missing?what else could be taking out the module?
if any one could help i would very much appreciate it,im trying to get a new job & don't need my car breaking down.
p.s.only happens when i try to restart car after a while.i'll shut car off & it will not restart, when tis problem goes active.after i change module,it's ok for a month(give or take) thanks
chuck.
