Hey guys, I just bougt a 83 camaro with a 305 in it- it was 350$ because it was parked for a year and since that year it developed an electrical problem- the only thing that works is the lights and horn and cluster light- when you turn the key you get nothing- i was thinkin maybe a wire in the column or around the ignition? can anyone give me some wires to check- i couldnt pass it up it has 90K and had 1 owner and the interior was almost as nice as my 92 camaro- thanks guys

 

Maybe one of your fuseable links went out. Each on controls like 1/3 of the power going into the car.

 

i acualy got the car started but it doesnt always start- i cleaner the terminals on the battery and got it to kick over but now it doesnt always wanna spin the started the battery is new and charged- somtimes the lights turn on when i put the key on somtimes they dont- if they do when i try and use the power windows or blinkers everything shuts down- could it be where the power cable connects to the starter?

 

Sounds like the switch on the steering column...
