Car: 1989 Firebird Formula
Engine: Internal Combustion
Transmission: Completed
Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
87-92 used a two-wire motor, previous ones were 3-wire.
If you're gonna swap in a set of later motors, you'll also need to swap in the entire relay harness as the relay setup was totally different between the two styles; it's probably just as easy to swap the entire lighting harness under the hood, from the bulkhead connector to the sockets.

If you have an 82' Firebird, I would try to get the correct 82-84 motors. They are very good and rarely go bad.
They can be bought off ebay or new ones can also be found.

i always hear about how its better to get later ones
the ones i took off my 82 t/a are munched inside, looks like plastic gears smashed to bits in them
if early ones are good then are later ones really bad/worse then ??
