Please help me with my no spark condition, it's been driving me crazy!!!!
Hi am am having a serious problem getting my car started due to zero spark. I have plenty of fuel pressure and I have performed the following:
- Replaced Module
- Replaced Pickup Coil
- Tested the main coil and it gave a nice blue spark snap
- Checked distributor connections
- Checked ECM fuse
Background info:
- Plugs, Rotor, Cap, Wires all replaced about 2 years ago
- Has an older [blue anodized aluminum casing] Crane Fireball ignition box [possible culprit?]
- Fuel pump replaced last year
*** Car was running like new until I went outside one night to head to the bar and there was no spark whatsoever ***
Any idea's?

Hi night hawk.
If you are getting a spark from the coil, all your dizzy connections must be fine. Check for a spark where the lead from the coil tower goes into the dizzy cap. If you have spark there, your problem is the rotor arm (do you call it a rotor button).
Good luck.
Andy.

The button is the transfer piece between the stationary cap and the rotating rotor. So the two are actually two sepertate parts. In any case follow the spark like Andy suggested and youll find out what part is bad.

Thanks for clearing that up darkhound! This English to American translation confuses me sometimes!! Is the rotor arm in your country still a rotor arm?! Or is it called something else?

I've only heard it called a rotor, but i knew exactly what you ment when you called it a rotor arm.
Hehe, I like that english to american translation. Aren't they supposed to be the same thing? One of my favorite tv shows is a show from England named Coupling. Every once in awhile i find myself saying what are they talking about.

Same thing sometimes-confusing others!
Since I work on american machinery quite a bit, I also inherit your "language". I asked for the price of a pair of rocker panels for my Nissan recently. The guy behind the counter gave me a really strange look! Eventually I had to describe where they were on a car. He said "Oh you mean sills?". Er, yeah! Sorry.
Our front wings, are your front fenders. Now your terminology seems to make more sense than ours. What the hell have they got to do with wings? What about mufflers and silencers? Now I like mufflers better, so that is what I use. Confusion again here on this side of the pond.
I've never seen the coupling programme though. Your shows are a damn sight better than ours though! What about the old favourites? Airwolf, Knight rider, A team, Dukes of Hazzard, Columbo, kojak, starsky and hutch,............. not of our making I can tell ya! Keep up the good work over there!
Nighthawk: Have you sorted this yet? Soory to hijack your thread.
Andy.
