Electrical a\c problem

Here goes.........Air was working fine. Then one day the fan(Blower) wouldn't come on (18 years old). Replaced blower motor. Same problem. Replaced Relay (i can hear it click and the voltage at the fan is 13.5) Same problem. (Oh, by the way, the compressor still cycles.) I can hot-wire the fan to the battery and it works, the relay clicks and when it is engaged, the power plugs to the fan show 13.5 volts, but it won't run!!!!!!!!!!WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've replaced everything (fan and relay, and the resistor coils are good)Just as an added bonus, sometimes it works. Sometimes it will just quit while running (blower) Most of the time it won't work. Sounds like a short, but no evidence of one. HELP!!!! It's hot in Texas! Bad blower motor???????????

Have you looked at the single-conductor inline connector under the radio? Usually melts. Might be your problem.

You mean the 13.5 shows against good ground or on the pins in the connector? Could easily be a bad ground. It shows good voltage unless you put load on the wire.

Found the problem. It was a ground problem. Thanks, guys. OK, I'll let everyone know what an idiot I am. The blower fan has it's own ground to the intake (at least that's where it was hooked from the factory). During the intake repair, it "got lost". Found it today while poking around. It had worked its way behind the block. Hooked it up, and all is well.
