Expert Wiring Question
Ok. I got a 87 Olds 442 and I took the throttle Body Set-up off a 90 Camaro 305. My question after researching this wiring harness is, Can it be possiable to bypass the Fuel Oil pressure switchg and have it run on the relay only? Also what will set the check engine light if I remove it? I want to keep the engine bay clean as possiable. I thought about taking the canister tank but didn't I think Im going to go back and get it. I dont have my smog pump hooked up now. So will leaving the divert vavle set a check engine?

Hello 87olds442,
I'm sorry but an 87 Olds does not quite qualify as a 3rd gen F-body even though you have taken a throttle body set-up off a 90 camaro. I am locking this thread but leaving it on the board so if any board members have any helpful info for you they can e-mail or PM it to you.. But to answer a couple of questions for you. You can by-pass the fuel pump/oil pressure switch but it is not advisable. One is because it will keep the fuel pump running in case the fuel pump relay fails. 2. because it sends the oil pressure signal to the gauge on the instrument panel.
