Electrical Connection On Radiator Tank...??

Goofy Question:

Radiator tank, passenger side, about half way down from fill cap, is an electrical (spade) type connection on the tank. There is nothing connected to it.

1) What is it for?

2) Should there be something connected to it? (I looked and did not see any loose wires dandling about)

3) Where did it go, if it was supposed to be connected to something?

Thanks!

Originally used as a coolant low level sensor on some cars. On mine which is a 1989 Iroc, there is a brass plug in that location. Nothing to worry about if it isn't connected to anything.

When it was functional it was to the left of the brake warning light.

ressurecting this one, how do you disable this sensor so that the light does not come on? i have the digital dash so removing the bulb is not do able. i think it just has to be grounded but not sure.

If I remember right that has to have less than 50,000 ohms to ground for the light to stay off.At more than 50,000 ohms the light will come on.
